Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Enner Valencia was with us next season
Everton have said no thanks.
Wouldn't be the worst thing to happen if he stayed with us.

He needs to go because he's not good enough and won't ever be good enough. He'll possibly do well in a different league.

We need to completely revamp our strikers and go into next season with some proper quality in the first team and on the bench.

He needs to go back to S America or Spain...

He is another that doesn't want to play for Bilic I heard.

He'd be better backup than Calleri, that's for sure.

It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if I broke my phone screen, but I'd be extremely pissed off. I'd also be extremely pissed off if we retain any striker other than Fletcher.

He's a decent player who at the very least would be good backup.

Re: Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Enner Valencia was with us next season
Felt sorry for the guy in so far as he was continuously played out of position and always seemed to get hooked when the sub board went up. However, if he doesn't want to play for the club then move him on.

It's a shame that both Sakho and Valencia's careers at the club have gone sour as they seemed to have a good partnership when they were signed.

Should be trying to flog him to one of the promoted sides.

Re: Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Enner Valencia was with us next season
He's a very specialised specialist - no good unless he's playing alongside Sakho, or possibly Lukaku.

Or the Ecuadorean team.

I suppose we could buy Lukaku and the Ecuador national side to get him playing at his best...

Re: Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Enner Valencia was with us next season
The fact that he was loaned out to Everton to make way for calleri and Zaza who were spectacularly worse speaks volumes about the decision making at the club. At least Valencia carries some threat compared to what we have now (outside of Carroll and Sakho). Agreed we move on if we find better, otherwise retain as backup.

Re: Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Enner Valencia was with us next season
I'd happily keep him as long as he's 65th choice striker. I'd have him ahead of the inexplicably popular Fletcher who is a league one player at best and about a stone overweight.

Re: Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Enner Valencia was with us next season
So it's not just me that thinks Fletcher is wildly overrated.

Valencia works well as part of a front 2, but it is limited.

However he's Better than calleri, zaza and Fletcher. And since he's not made of balsar wood more reliable than Carroll and sakho.

Ok as a 3rd or 4th choice behind actually good strikers , but realistically Wed be best getting shot.

Having said that We'd be best off getting shot of every one of our pathetic forward line. Including ayew and Snodgrass. Only Antonio and lanzini aren't wastes of space and time.

Probably the most coherent transfer strategy we'd have had in some time, to be fair.

No there are worse things. Like stupidly relying on 2 injury probe strikers not to be injured then playing callieri every game.

That's worse.

As for Fletcher he needs a season in the championship now.

Re: Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Enner Valencia was with us next season
He's shit

Move him on this summer along with most of our attacking options at present

Just because there is no-one better in the squad at the moment doesnt mean we should settle for shit like Enner

Darby_ 8:14 Tue May 30
Re: Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Enner Valencia was with us next season
We did move him along last summer. And all the players we got to replace him were worse, including one supposedly valued at 20m.

cholo 8:19 Tue May 30
Re: Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Enner Valencia was with us next season
They were worse but not by much, we should be looking to do much better striker wise this summer.

Darby_ 8:34 Tue May 30
Re: Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Enner Valencia was with us next season
The point is, it's easy to say that but last season we brought in a striker supposedly worth $20m and he was worse than what we had before.

Can we guarantee they'll be better this time?

Trevor B 8:38 Tue May 30
Re: Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Enner Valencia was with us next season
Ayew is a far, far better player than Valencia. 6 goals from 16 PL starts after a bad injury and being in and out of the side. Compare that to Valencia's first season when he started 25 games and only managed 4 goals.
